Chrysanthemum processing steps
(1) Picking standards
When most of the petals are open, the flower is fully opened, the fragrance has been distributed, and the flower body is loose, it is the perfect time for drying.
(2) Holding tools
Use frame tools such as baskets to hold the chrysanthemum, and do not use woven bags. Once the flowers are squeezed and damaged, they will directly affect the quality after drying. Do not pile them too thick, otherwise the flowers at the bottom would be crushed.
(3) Screening
The picked flowers will inevitably have buds, leaves and insects, etc., which need to be screened by a screening machine.
(4) Loading
Put the flowers in the stainless steel tray. They should be placed evenly, and the thickness should be moderate. The chrysanthemums can be stacked
(5) Removing the green
Since the chrysanthemum has a strong astringent taste, it is necessary to remove the astringent taste while maintaining the color of chrysanthemum.
Chrysanthemum drying process
The temperature of the baking room should be raised and the humidity should be lowered. The drying process of the chrysanthemum is generally last for 36 hours. The chrysanthemum drying process is divided into 3 stages: the low temperature stage, which is keeping the temperature at 34 ℃ – 40 ℃ for 4- 6 hours, with a small amount of dehumidification. In the middle temperature stage, the temperature keeps at 40℃-45℃ for 18–20 hours, the water evaporates quickly, and the moisture should be removed in time. In the high temperature stage, the temperature is 50 ℃ – 55 ℃, the drying process is basically finished at this time, and there is little residual water, thus you should use the high temperature to evaporates the water slowly, then a small amount of moisture is removed.
